The Game That Can’t Be Named

The league’s restrictions were recently lampooned in a radio advertisement by a New Jersey auto dealer, Brad Benson, a former N.F.L. offensive lineman.

Mr. Benson, who helped lead the Giants to a Super Bowl victory in 1987, owns Brad Benson Hyundai in South Brunswick. He made sport of the league’s policy by bleeping over his narration each time he said “Super Bowl,” and took a dig at Gov. Chris Christie’s weight by calling the game the “Supper Bowl.”
